SAMPANG - The Sampang Police Team, East Java, is hunting for the perpetrators of the spread of the "blood flood" hoax. The hoax was spread by residents from Banyuates District, via Youtube and Facebook.

According to the Head of Banyuates Police, Commissioner Adjutant Dody Pratama, the resident who is suspected of spreading fake news on social media is Abdullah, from Lar-Lar Village, Banyuates District, Sampang.

"Our members have visited his house in Lar-Lar Village, but the person concerned is no longer living in his house. He is already in Surabaya," he said, Sunday, February 14.

Before visiting Abdullah's house, the police first went to the location of the "flood of blood" as mentioned in the perpetrator's YouTube and Facebook social media.

"The fact is that none of the pictures uploaded to social media accounts are just fabrications, and this case has troubled other netizens, including the people of Sampang," said Commissioner Adjutant Dody.

Based on the records of the Banyuates Police, the perpetrator named Abdullah is not only this time to make a scene.

The perpetrator once recorded a scene of animal torture on a motorcycle, until he was arrested by the police. The footage of animal torture is for the content of social media accounts, namely Youtube and Facebook.

At that time, Abdullah was arrested by the Sampang Police Traffic Unit, for demonstrating a scene of animal torture in a public place, by dragging a lizard with his motorbike.

"But this Abdullah was immediately released in the morning, and only given a warning and he promised not to repeat it again. Currently, he even made a sensational post saying that there had been a flood of blood in Sampang," said the police chief.

The police appeal to the families of hoax spreaders not to repeat themselves and be careful in spreading information.

Meanwhile, even though they did not meet, the police asked the perpetrator's family to surrender themselves to the Banyuates Police, because the fake news uploaded on his social media accounts had repeatedly disturbed many people.
