2 People Died After Pagar Nusa Pencak Silat Training In Batu Jatim

BATU - The police said there were two students who were reported to have died after attending the training for admission of members of the Pagar Nusa Pencak silat Student Activity Unit (UKM) in Coban Rais, Batu City, East Java.

The Head of County Police of Batu City, Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Catur Cahyono Wibowo said that the reports of two students of Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN) Malang City who passed away was accepted on Sunday, March 7. "On Sunday (7/3), there were reports of two people dying in an activity carried out by UIN Malang students. This activity will start on Friday. (5/3) until Sunday (7/3)," said Catur as quoted by Antara, in Batu City, East Java, Monday, March 8, Catur said that the two victims who died on Saturday, March 6 had the initials MRP, a resident of Bandung City, and MFL a resident of Lamongan.

In this activity, there were as many as 41 students who attended the training for admission of new members of the Pagar Nusa Pencak Silat UKM. According to Catur, this activity had not yet obtained the permit. Initially, it was carried out in the Karangploso area, Malang Regency. Then, on the second day, the activity was continued in the tourist area of Coban Rais, Batu City. "So from the Karangploso area, they went to the Predator Fun Park area, Tlekung Village, Junrejo District. From there, proceed to Coban Rais," said Catur. One of the first victims was declared dead when he was brought to the Karangploso Health Center, Malang Regency. Then, for the second victim, he was reported to have fainted and was taken to Karsa Husada Hospital, Batu City. "For the second victim, who was actually on his way, the hospital said that he had passed away," explained Catur.

The police have not been able to confirm the cause of the death of the two UIN Malang City students. The police are still waiting for reports from Karsa Husada Hospital and Karangploso Health Center. "But here we cannot answer, what caused these two people died, we are still waiting from the hospital and the health center," said Catur.

Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit (Kasat Reskrim) of Batu City Police, Commissioner Adjutant Jeifson Sitorus added that the two victims were rushed to health facilities in a not too long period of time. The first victim, MFL, was reported to have fallen and was rushed to the Karangploso Health Center, Malang Regency. Not long after, the second victim MRP fell unconscious and was rushed to the Karsa Husada Hospital, Batu City.

"Between the first and second victims, the time difference is small. So after the first victim fainted, then the committee gathered the participants, not long after that the second victim collapsed and was taken to Karsa Husada Hospital," said Jeifson.
