Prince Harry and Meghan Take Archie-Lilibet to England, King Charles Can Meet Grandchildren

JAKARTA - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will bring their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to England in July. This is Archie and Lilibet's first visit to their father's country since 2022.

People, quoted Sunday, June 28, reported that the Sussex family would come to England with their two children. Archie is now 7 years old, while Lilibet is 5 years old.

The two were last in the UK during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the late Queen Elizabeth in 2022. On this visit, Archie and Lilibet are said not to be following the public agenda.

The family will stay in a combination of royal residences and private accommodation. Buckingham Palace on June 19 said King Charles had offered accommodation in the royal area to Harry and his family. Their accommodation location has not been announced.

Security issues remain a concern. Harry has always said he does not feel safe bringing Meghan and their children to England after losing taxpayer-funded police protection in 2020.

The review of Harry's security by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures or RAVEC is said to be incomplete. However, if the Sussex family lives in one of the King's residences, they will be protected by the security that applies to the property.

While in the UK, Harry and Meghan are scheduled to carry out a number of agendas related to the Invictus Games Foundation and Harry's old charity activities. Harry will attend an Invictus Games Foundation forum at Chatham House. He and Meghan will also attend a private meeting with the foundation at the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

Harry is also scheduled to visit Birmingham Children's Hospital as a WellChild patron. To mark the year leading up to the 2027 Invictus Games, the couple will visit the National Exhibition Centre or NEC in Birmingham. Harry will also attend Scotty's Summer Festival at Maxstoke Castle, Warwickshire.

This visit opens up the opportunity for Archie and Lilibet to meet their grandfather, King Charles. Since Harry and Meghan moved to California in 2020, Archie is believed to have only met King Charles a few times. Meanwhile, King Charles is said to have only met Lilibet once.

Attention has also been drawn to the possibility of Harry's relationship with the royal family breaking down. Harry has only met his father in person a few times in recent years. Meghan has also not been in the same room as a member of the royal family since 2022.

Harry's meeting with his brother, Prince William, is said to be less likely. The relationship between the two brothers is still strained.

Harry previously expressed a desire to make peace with his family. "I want to make peace with my family. There's no point in continuing to fight," Harry told the BBC in May 2025.

Harry and Meghan last brought Archie and Lilibet to England in June 2022 for Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. At that time, their two children did not attend public events.
