JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion has begun to transfer students from the Ibadurrahman Pondok Pesantren, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan, to other educational institutions after the pesantren's operational permit was revoked following the alleged case of sexual violence.

In addition to ensuring that the learning process continues, the Ministry of Religion has also prepared psychosocial assistance for affected victims and students, as well as facilitating teachers and education personnel during the transition period.

"We appreciate the quick steps of the East Kalimantan Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion, starting from handling cases, escorting the legal process, to follow-up after the revocation of the NSP. This step shows that the state is present to protect children and ensure that the rights of students are still fulfilled," said Basnang in a written statement, Saturday (27/6).

According to Basnang, the Ministry of Religion together with the East Kalimantan Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion continues to monitor the process of transferring students to other pesantren which are considered safe. Psychosocial assistance is also provided to victims and students affected by the case.

The process was escorted by the Child-Friendly Boarding School Task Force. Ministry of Religion. The chairman of the Child-Friendly Boarding School Task Force, Yusi Damayanti, said the government's main focus at this time is to ensure that the education of the students is not interrupted.

"Our presence here is a form of responsibility to ensure that children's learning rights continue to run without obstacles, as well as the fate of teachers and education personnel," said Yusi when he directly reviewed the Ibadurrahman Islamic Boarding School in Tenggarong Seberang.

In addition to dealing with the impact of the closure of pesantren, the Ministry of Religion has also prepared preventive measures through the strengthening of the Pesantren Ramah Anak Task Force. The program includes screening the eligibility of pesantren, periodic supervision, and strengthening the child protection system in the religious education environment.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Madrasah Education Section of the East Kalimantan Ministry of Religion, Sabransyah, said that his party had prepared a roadmap for handling the post-cancellation of the pesantren's operational permit.

"We have prepared mitigation measures after the decision to revoke the permit was issued," he said.

The head of the Kutai Kartanegara MUI, KH Abdul Hanan, hopes that similar cases will not happen again in the religious education environment.

"Actually, no one expects this kind of incident. Hopefully this will be the last test," he said.

The Ministry of Religion emphasized that all handling processes were carried out together with the local government, law enforcement officers, the Social Service, and the East Kalimantan Women and Children Protection UPTD. The government ensures that the transition process takes place in accordance with the principles of child protection and the right to education for students is still fulfilled.
