Ride The Demonstration: Israeli Mossad Agents Arrested By Iran, Bring Assault Rifles To Grenades

JAKARTA - Iran claims its security forces managed to capture intelligence related to Israel, confiscated several weapons that were planned to be used in riots on the sidelines of protests in Iran in recent days.

Unmitigated, the intelligence that was secured was said to be related to the well-known Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad. The agent was captured fully armed.

This announcement was made by the Iranian authorities, after protests over the lack of clean water lasted for two weeks, with the majority of the demonstrations being held in Khuzestan, located in southwest Iran.

Authorities have accused armed dissidents of provoking clashes during street protests. Human rights groups say security forces have opened fire on protesters.

"The Mossad operator intended to use the equipment in riots and urban killings", an Iranian Intelligence Ministry official said, according to state media, referring to Israel's intelligence agency. The official did not provide details.

Weapons seized included handguns, grenades, assault rifles, and ammunition, the official said. He also said some of the weapons were used to provoke clashes during the protests.

Meanwhile, citing the Times of Israel, Tehran did not specify how many people were arrested, or their nationalities, but said they were being held at the country's western border. Iran borders Turkey and Iraq to the west. It is not clear when the group was detained.

Sources in Iran's Intelligence Ministry also claimed Israel attempted to carry out acts of sabotage during the recent Iranian elections, but the attack was thwarted. There was no immediate comment from Israeli officials on this matter.

To note, at least five people have died in recent days amid protests over water shortages affecting Iran's Khuzestan province, the country's oil-rich and restive region.
