Anies Raises The Income Limit For Homeownership IDR 0 Down Payment Program, Observer: Which Poor People That Have IDR 14.8 Million Income?

JAKARTA - The commitment of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan to improve the welfare of low-income residents by providing a house with a Down Payment of IDR 0 is doubted through the issuance of Governor Decree Number 558 of 2020.

In the Governor's Decree which was signed on June 10, 2020, Anies raised the highest income limit for the recipient of the home loan financing facility without a down payment (DP).

Initially, the highest income limit for a family that was allowed to apply for IDR 0 homeownership down payment was IDR 7 million. Now, families whose income reaches IDR 14.8 million are allowed to make this application.

This was questioned by the urban policy analyst from FAKTA, Azas Tigor Nainggolan. Azas felt that the residents' monthly income of IDR 14.8 million was not categorized as poor or low income.

"Which poor people have a minimum income of IDR 14 million? Anies Baswedan's determination and way of thinking is strange", said Azas in his statement, Tuesday, March 16.

In addition, Anies also cut the target of building a simple flat owned by him (rusunami) in which there is a house down payment of IDR 0, from the initial 232.214 units to 10.460 units.

The reason is because of the COVID-19 pandemic. DKI realized that it could not achieve as many residential ownership targets as promised when Anies first took office. Moreover, a lot of the budget has been spent on handling the pandemic.

Not to mention the allegation of corruption in the purchase of land intended to build a house for IDR 0 down payment in Munjul, Pondok Ranggon, East Jakarta. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is currently investigating this case. Anies also dismissed the Managing Director of Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya, Yoory C. Pinontoan from his position after Yoory was named a suspect.

"Since the beginning of the project that the governor Anies Baswedan had been calling out for, it was finally revealed that there was corruption in the purchase of troubled land in the Pondok Ranggon area. Do you citizens of Jakarta still want to hear that big nonsense?", he said.

Therefore, Azas urged the KPK to examine Anies in the deepening of the alleged corruption case. In addition, Azis said that DKI Regional Representative Council (DPRD) Chairman Prasetyo Edi Marsudi was also investigated because he played a role in ratifying regional budgets.

"The members of the Jakarta DPRD are all silent, even though there is Jakarta residents' money amounting to IDR 285 billion from the Jakarta Regional Budget which Anies Baswedan has corrupted. Marsudi", he concluded.
