Complaints From South Tangerang KPPS Members: 'Only' Get Rp50 Thousand And No Lunch

TANGERANG - Ahead of the 2024 general election (Pemilu), there were few obstacles experienced by the Voting Committee (KPPS) group regarding the transportation money they received. In South Tangerang (Tangsel) the KPPS transport money amounted to Rp50 thousand per person.

One of the members of the South Tangerang KPPS, Syarifuddin, said that based on information he knew, it was Rp. 100-200 thousand. This depends on the distance from the house to the location of the implementation.

"Only got 50 thousand rupiahs," said Syarifuddin in a short message, Tuesday, January 29.

Syarifuddin was surprised by the nominal value of the transport money they received.

"We have asked for an explanation so that there are no external issues," he explained.

The same thing was conveyed by Magribi, a member of the KPPS from Pondok Aren. He said that he did not get lunch money, but only Rp. 50,000 for transportation.

"Only 50 thousand, you can't get lunch. Just Snack," he said.

The chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Tangsel City, Taufiq, said that complaints about pocket money are people who do not clearly understand the procedure for distributing the pocket money.

"Actually, everything related to the budget is in the realm of secretariats, provisions, mechanisms and instructions hierarchies and then submitted to the commissioners," said Taufiq.

"Because you asked, I as the chairman of the KPU must be willing and be able to explain it. In South Tangerang, IDR 150 thousand for PPK SPPD, IDR 75 thousand for PPS and IDR 50 thousand for KPPS," he continued.

Nevertheless, he believes that his party did not do what was accused by a number of KPPS.
