Snapchat Launches Its New AR Ghost Game "Ghost Phone" Inside The App

JAKARTA - Always providing new ways to users, Snap, the company behind the Snapchat application, has launched its newest Augmented Reality (AR) game called Ghost Phone.

Ghost Phone will ask you to discover the secret of an abandoned cell phone and solve the supernatural mystery of what happened to its previous owner.

On your Journey in search of clues, you'll come face-to-face with realistic-looking ghost spirits via Snap AR technology.

Based on an announcement shared on Friday, July 29, the game was built by Snap using Lens Studio and the web-first game engine, Playcanvas.

"Ghost Phone uses surface recognition and world scanning technology to seamlessly weave AR ghosts into real-world environments," the company wrote.

Want to try solving mysteries on Ghost Phone? Here's how to get started:

1. Open the Snapchat app.
2. Find the game in Lens Explorer or by tapping the Rocket icon in Chats.
3. You will be prompted to enter a password to decode and turn on "Ghost Phone" to play.
4. Find instructions in text messages and in phone applications.
5. Open Camera Mode and look around to catch different types of ghosts.
6. You need to level up to uncover apps and data to uncover more clues, Camera Mode and ghosts, and discover what happened to Lisa, the previous owner of the phone.
