Allegedly 15 Chinese Citizens Involved In Illegal Mining In West Lombok, Immigration Coordinates With Police

JAKARTA - Mataram Immigration Office officers in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) received information regarding the whereabouts of 15 foreign nationals (foreigners) from China who were suspected of being involved in illegal mining activities in the people's gold mining area of Sekotong, West Lombok Regency.

"From the latest information, there are several foreigners (China foreigners) out of NTB. We have coordinated this information with the West Lombok Police," said Head of the Mataram Immigration Office Selfario Adhityawan Pikuhun in Mataram, Tuesday, September 3, confiscated by Antara.

In an effort to trace through immigration data, he explained, the Mataram Immigration Office has found the identities of the 15 Chinese foreigners.

"The data was obtained based on the results of coordination with the West Lombok Police. So, these 15 Chinese foreigners are registered to have visas and residence permits as investors," he said.

He confirmed that his party had not been able to take legal steps against the 15 Chinese foreigners before there was evidence of immigration violations in the field.

"It is necessary to prove first if the foreigner is really carrying out activities that misuse the residence permit," he said.

Likewise, immigration can take this step if the Chinese foreigner has been proven to have abused his residence permit.

"If it has been proven, then immigration administration actions can be imposed in the form of deportation," said Selfario.

Furthermore, he ensured that the Mataram Immigration Office supported the West Lombok Police in uncovering the alleged illegal mining case involving the 15 Chinese foreigners.

The form of commitment is given intensively through coordination with the Directorate General of Immigration, Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights NTB, Polda NTB, and Polres West Lombok.

Head of the West Lombok Police Satreskrim AKP Abisatya Darma Wiryatmaja previously said that the handling of the alleged illegal mining case of 15 Chinese foreigners had entered the investigation stage.

In handling it, the police are now investigating the whereabouts of the 15 Chinese foreigners through coordination with the immigration authorities.
