Alluding To Anies' Age Is Still Young, NasDem: Can Have Sex Again

Secretary General of the NasDem Party, Hermawi Taslim, assessed that Anies Baswedan could not be discouraged just because he failed to pass in the 2024 Pilkada contestation. Hermawi assessed that Anies could still participate in elections and regional elections in the next period.

"Pak Anies is still very young. He can still have a lot more opportunities and he turns out to be a person who doesn't give up, and he is a person who continues to move," said Hermawi at NasDem Tower, Central Jakarta, Friday, August 30.

In addition, at the age of 55, Anies can still do many things. The former governor of DKI Jakarta, according to Hermawi, was also able to carry out other social and professional activities.

"People who move are not always in political positions, Pak Anies before becoming governor of many (activities) in Indonesia Teaching, and others," he said.

Hermawi emphasized that his party still opened the door to Anies and maintained good relations, even though the former Minister of Education and Culture failed to advance in the 2024 Pilkada because he did not get a nomination ticket.

NasDem, admitted Hermawi, also could not do much to keep Anies so that he could still sail to become a candidate for the Governor of DKI Jakarta. Even so, Hermawi believes that the people of Jakarta will still support Anies whatever his steps go forward

"The process, if we can't, what do we want? In my opinion, Anies remains in the hearts of the people, still loved by nasSem. Four days ago he still had lunch here, still okay. We as relatives are still fine," he said.

The dynamics of candidacy in the 2024 Pilkada appear to be up and down, especially before the end of the registration period for the regional head candidate pair.

The opportunity for Anies to advance was carried by the PDI-P (PDIP) in the Jakarta gubernatorial election after being left behind by NasDem, PKB, and PKS, did not bear fruit. PDIP nominated its cadre, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, who registered with the DKI Jakarta KPU on Wednesday, August 28.

Later, PDIP offered Anies to run for the West Java (Jabar) gubernatorial election, after canceling his upload in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. The West Java PDIP Regional Leadership Council (DPD) revealed that Anies would be paired by Ono Surono.

There were also rumors that Anies had left for Bandung, West Java to register with PDIP. Then, two hours before the registration period closed, Anies, through his spokesman, announced that he would cancel running for the West Java Pilkada. Until the closing of the registration period, Anies turned out to be still in Jakarta.

Anies admitted that he did not take the opportunity to become a candidate for Governor of West Java because previously he did not get the aspirations of the community to lead other than Jakarta.

Meanwhile, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said it was not his party that prevented Anies Baswedan from competing in the 2024 Pilkada. The people can assess the party by looking at who had interfered with the implementation of the democratic party from the start.
