Ferdy Sambo Executed In Salemba Prison, Life In Prison

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta District Attorney executed Ferdy Sambo at the Class IIA Salemba Correctional Institution (Lapas), Central Jakarta, today. Likewise, Ricky Rizal and Strong Ma'ruf were executed.

The execution process was carried out after the Supreme Court (MA) cut its criminal sanctions from the death penalty to life.

"The convict Ferdy Sambo is serving a life imprisonment at the Class IIA Salemba Penitentiary, Central Jakarta," said Head of the AGO, Ketut Sumedana in a statement, Thursday, August 24.

The execution of the former Head of the Propam Police Division was based on the decision of the Supreme Court number 813.K/Pid/2023, dated August 8, 2023.

Even with the convicts Ricky Rizal and Strong Ma'ruf. Both of them were moved to the Class IIA Salemba Prison, Central Jakarta.

"The execution was carried out in a safe and controlled situation thanks to the security team from the South Jakarta District Attorney's Intelligence team," said Ketut.

The Supreme Court cut the sentence of 4 defendants in the premeditated murder case against Yosua alias Brigadier J.

Ferdy Sambo, who was initially sentenced to death, was sentenced to life imprisonment. Then, his wife, Putri Candrawathi, who was originally 20 years old, became 10 years old.

Meanwhile, Strong Ma'ruf, who was originally 15 years old, became 10 years old. And for Bripka Ricky will serve 8 years from the original 13 years.
