Van Gogh's Seat At The Italian Museum Was Damaged By Visitors, The Perpetrator Ran Away With Castration

JAKARTA - Van Gogh's chair, which is coated with hundreds of broken Swarovski crystals, was occupied by visitors to the art museum in Verona, Italy. The perpetrator was a pair of women who had run away from the museum.

Art works are named after the legendary Dutch artist, Van Gogh. The installation was display at a museum called Palazzo Maffei.

"Every museum's nightmare has come true, even at the Palazzo Maffei," the museum said in a statement, quoted from Metro UK, Sunday, June 15.

The museum has shared CCTV footage at the time of the incident on its official Facebook in the hope that the two perpetrators can account for their actions.

The footage shows the two perpetrators waiting for the moment when the museum security officer who controls the walk away from Van Gogh's seat.

The two of them took turns sitting in the crystal chair of Swarovski. When the woman lay down, the chair immediately cracked.

It didn't take long for the two of them to run out of the room leaving the cracked Van Gogh chair on the floor.

The museum said that the seat by Italian artist Nicola Bolla is currently being worked on to be repaired. Although in reality, they can't say for sure if it will be as before.
