Nissan Officially Brings the Fairlady Z with a Powerful Engine to Indonesia

JAKARTA - Nissan confirms its long-term commitment in the Indonesian market by presenting one of the most iconic sports cars in its history, the Nissan Fairlady Z, for the first time in the country at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026. Carrying the theme "The Legend has Arrived", the presence of this legendary model is a symbol of Nissan's optimism towards the prospects of the national automotive industry as well as a form of its seriousness in presenting products that are able to attract various generations of customers.

President of Nissan ASEAN and Thailand, Masao Tsutsumi, said Indonesia has an important role for Nissan in the Southeast Asian region so that the company continues to strive to provide the best products for consumers.

"Indonesia is one of Nissan's main markets in the ASEAN region. The presence of Fairlady Z today reflects our confidence in Indonesia's future as well as proof of Nissan's long-term commitment to continue to grow together with the market and customers in this country," said Masao Tsutsumi at ICE BSD, Wednesday, July 29.

"Together with our trusted partner, Indomobil, we are proud to present this legend for the first time in Indonesia, while continuing to strengthen our commitment through electrification technology, customer-focused innovation, and products that provide added value for everyday people's mobility," he continued.

For more than 55 years, the Fairlady Z has been one of the models that has built Nissan's reputation in the sports car segment. Since its introduction in 1969, each generation has carried the high performance philosophy that can still be enjoyed by many drivers through a combination of distinctive design, impressive driving ability, and a strong connection between the driver and the vehicle.

The latest generation of Fairlady Z still maintains its classic character with a touch of modern technology. The exterior design combines inspiration from all generations of Z, from the long hood, compact stern, to aerodynamic refinements to support performance.

Behind the engine hood, Nissan equips the Fairlady Z with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that is capable of producing 400 hp of power and 475 Nm of torque. This power is channeled through a choice of six-speed manual transmission for pure driving enthusiasts or a nine-speed automatic transmission that offers faster and responsive gear shifts.

The performance of this car is also supported by a rear-wheel drive (Rear-Wheel Drive) system, Mechanical Limited Slip Differential (LSD), and suspension tuning that has been improved to produce precise control while providing a more enjoyable driving experience.

Entering the cabin, the sporty feel is immediately felt through the cockpit design which is driver-oriented. Nissan still maintains iconic elements such as the Triple Pod Cluster, combined with a steering wheel inspired by the Nissan GT-R. This combination presents a balance between the design heritage of the Fairlady Z and modern technology, so that every journey offers a distinctive and adrenaline-filled driving experience.

In addition to introducing the Fairlady Z, Nissan also brought the Serena e-POWER for the family segment, the X-Trail e-POWER with e-4ORCE technology in the electrified SUV class, Terra for premium SUV needs, and Navara in the commercial vehicle segment. Through this product line, Nissan emphasizes its efforts to provide vehicle options that match the needs of Indonesian consumers, ranging from sports cars, family vehicles, SUVs, to commercial vehicles.
