Rionny Mainaky Ends His Duty as Mixed Doubles Coach

Rionny Mainaky's duties as a mixed doubles coach for the PBSI National Team ended (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA - Rionny Mainaky officially ended his duties as a mixed doubles coach at the National Training Center of the Central Management of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PP PBSI) together with his assistant Amon Sunaryo.

The two are confirmed to no longer train after PBSI decided to make a refresh in the mixed doubles coaching sector as part of a thorough evaluation of the national performance training program.

"Rionny Mainaky and assistant coach Amon Sunaryo officially ended their duties at the PBSI National Training Center," read the official statement from the national badminton parent company sent to the media.

While waiting for the appointment of the new head coach of the main mixed doubles, PBSI also took steps to design a mixed doubles training program with a system that combines the main and pratama groups.

The decision was made so that the coaching process would continue to run optimally, the training program would continue to be sustainable, and the athletes' preparations for the international agenda would not be disrupted.

Head of Training and Achievement (Kabid Binpres) of the PP PBSI, Eng Hian, said that the coaching refresher was part of the PBSI's commitment to continue to improve the quality of coaching at the Cipayung Training Center.

"We are conducting a thorough evaluation of the coaching process, starting from the development of athletes, the effectiveness of training programs, the dynamics of pairs, to the readiness of this sector to face the big targets in the future," he said.

This refresher process is carried out based on the targets and key performance indicators (key performance indicators) that have been set. From the results of the evaluation, PBSI assessed that there was a need for a refresher in the coaching ranks so that the mixed doubles sector could gain a new perspective, continue to develop, and be able to produce more optimal achievements.

Currently, PBSI has bagged a candidate who is considered suitable to lead the mixed doubles sector. However, the appointment process is still ongoing so that his identity cannot be announced to the public.
