JAKARTA - Miley Cyrus announced that her tenth studio album is now in its final stages.

The singer of "Flowers" revealed that his latest work is dedicated as a narrative of a love journey, both towards his partner, Maxx Morando, and the form of acceptance towards himself.

"This album is a love story, but a love story is never one-dimensional. The story in it always has many layers," Cyrus said in a recent interview with Wonderland.

He added that the romance he felt was the common thread that united all the songs on the album.

According to him, this work is a reflection of his current life phase, as well as reflecting the inner peace he has felt in recent years.

"There is a romantic thread woven in it because, like all my recordings, it is a reflection of my existence in life," said the 33-year-old soloist.

"However, this one feels very meaningful because this feeling continues to persist in several eras of my journey," he continued.

Furthermore, Cyrus explained how his personal evolution greatly influenced the creative process of making music. A harmonious relationship with oneself is considered to have a positive impact on his romantic relationship with Maxx Morando.

"Peaceful love has been the theme of my last three records. Not just the love I share with others, but the love I've found for myself," Cyrus said. "That's probably the biggest evolution. Once your relationship with yourself changes, every relationship around you changes too. I think this record celebrates both equally."

The process of working on the tenth album is recognized by Cyrus as being very natural and structured. Unlike previous music projects, the former Disney star chose to set a list of songs first before completing the entire studio production.

"Usually I'm very confident with the end goal, and sometimes it almost obscures the process of the journey because I'm too focused on getting somewhere. This one is different, it feels organic and not forced. What really helped this time was that I started with a song list and never deviated from it. I knew this album would contain 10 songs," he said.

This album project is also Miley Cyrus' first step under her new music label, Atlantic Records. The move to a label under the Warner Music Group umbrella marks the end of Cyrus' 13-year collaboration with Sony Music and Columbia Records.

Previously, Cyrus released the album "Endless Summer Vacation" under Columbia Records which successfully ranked fourth on the Billboard 200 album chart.

The album spawned the song "Flowers" which managed to perch at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for eight consecutive weeks and brought him to the Grammy Awards.

Cyrus' latest album is expected to be released in the coming months ahead of the Grammy Awards in February 2027.
