Message for Those Who Fail to Move On in NPD's Latest Single Lupain Aku Plis

JAKARTA - After successfully completing a series of tours, the pop trio New Center of the World or known as NPD immediately returned to hit with releasing their third single titled "Lupain Aku Plis".

Carrying a pop ballad color that is still light, catchy, and full of character, this song presents a unique and humorous response for anyone who is suddenly contacted by an ex-boyfriend when they have managed to move on.

Through his latest work, NPD photographed the dynamics of a love affair that turned around. "Lupain Aku Plis" tells the story of a man who once fought to approach his dream girl, but the response he received was not what he expected.

As time went on, the situation was the opposite. The woman came back trying to get closer, at a time when the man had already moved on with his life.

Instead of being carried away by nostalgia or opening up the opportunity for a comeback, the figure in this song chooses to show high self-confidence through a casual sarcasm.

The moment is clearly summed up in the lyrics that became the main highlight, "Oh sorry I admit it, I'm a gamon."

The lyrics describe the condition when one party has finished with his past, while the other party is still stuck in memories (failed to move on).

NPD personnel - Mario Caesar, Niky Putra, and Kev - said that the narrative raised in this work is a reflection of the reality experienced by many people in romantic relationships.

"This song tells the story of a moment when someone was ignored, but when he moved on and continued to live better, the party came back again," said Kev in his statement, Wednesday, July 29.

"So through this song, instead of emotions, we respond to it casually and confidently, as if saying that the current situation is different," added Mario.

The process of the birth of "Lupain Aku Plis" started from the mix of melody pieces composed by Peter Lawdenk. The initial idea was then developed together by Kev, Niky, and Mario.

Their musical exploration is getting stronger thanks to the production of Rey Tobing, who also concocted each of the personnel's perspectives to become a whole and personal work unit.

Adding to its visual appeal, the release of this single was accompanied by the launch of an official lyric video. The artwork featured a deep metaphor: a female figure holding a mirror with the reflection of the NPD members' faces in it.

The visual is a real symbol of the shadow of the past that continues to haunt and is difficult to erase from the mind of someone who has not finished with his memories.

The presence of this third single further emphasizes NPD's consistency in exploring the spectrum of pop music. Although known for having a humorous persona and often inviting laughter, the group proves its ability to present a narrative that is close to the emotional dynamics of the listener.
