JAKARTA - A British subway driver was caught sewing clothes while working behind the wheel of London Underground. The driver was sanctioned by the dismissal.

The man's unprofessional attitude was known based on viral video recordings.

Transport for London (TFL) in charge of the subway said the driver had been sanctioned according to his actions.

"The video was made earlier this year. We have carried out a thorough investigation and the person involved is no longer working at Tfl," reads TFL's official statement, quoted from Metro UK, Sunday 15 June.

The driver knitted clothes when the Northern Line subway he was driving stopped at Hendon Central Station in February 2025.

The driver also appears to be watching a video via a cellphone that is placed on the dashboard of the train.

The passenger who recorded the incident whose identity was kept secret said the driver was responsible for the safety of passengers and should be careful at work.

"I was very surprised. I didn't expect to see someone who should have worked so relaxed in his work," he said.

"And, even though I don't know the subway's automatic system, I think that the driver is in control of the passenger's life. It feels crazy that this driver doesn't take it any more seriously," he continued.
