The Ministry Of Transportation Gets A Budget Ceiling In 2025 Of IDR 24.76 Trillion, Used For Anything?

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) received a budget ceiling for 2025 of IDR 24.76 trillion.

The amount of the budget obtained by the Ministry of Transportation has been approved between the government and Commission V of the DPR RI.

The amount of the budget was conveyed at the DPR RI Working Meeting with the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi and partners in Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, September 9 yesterday.

The 2025 budget ceiling will be used for echelon I work units, namely the Secretariat General Rp681.31 billion. Then the Inspectorate General amounted to Rp116.18 billion.

Then, continued Budi, for the Directorate General of Land Transportation Rp4.25 trillion; Directorate General of Sea Transportation Rp10.37 trillion; Directorate General of Civil Aviation Rp4.57 trillion; Directorate General of Railways Rp1.79 trillion; Transportation Policy Agency Rp108.57 billion; BPSDM Transportation Rp2.72 trillion; and the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency Rp132.10 billion.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said the Ministry of Transportation's budget requirement in 2025 was IDR 80.63 trillion.

Meanwhile, through a Joint Letter of the Minister of Finance and the Minister of National Development Planning on the 2025 Budget Ceiling, the Ministry of Transportation obtained a ceiling of Rp. 24.76 trillion.

Thus, continued Budi, there is a gap or difference of Rp55.87 trillion between budget needs and the 2025 budget ceiling.

"There is a gap of IDR 55.87 trillion so that additional budget support is still needed," he said in an official statement, written Tuesday, September 10.

For this reason, continued Budi, the Ministry of Transportation has also submitted an additional budget request to the Minister of Finance and the Minister of VAT of IDR 7.68 trillion.

"However, we understand that the government's caution for 2025 needs to be done and Commission V is wise enough to continue to fight for additional things," said Budi.

Responding to this, the Chairman of Commission V DPR RI Lazarus promised to fight for an additional 2025 budget for the Ministry of Transportation.

"Commission V of the DPR RI will fight for the proposed addition of the 2025 budget in accordance with the mechanism for discussing the Bill on the 2025 State Budget, namely the Ministry of Transportation of IDR 55.87 trillion," he said.

Furthermore, Lazarus conveyed that the approval of the Ministry of Transportation's budget ceiling was in accordance with the 2025 RAPBN financial note.

"Commission V DPR RI together with the Ministry of Transportation have agreed to synchronize the budget according to the functions and programs in the RAPBN for the 2025 fiscal year, in accordance with the suggestions, proposals and inputs of Commission V DPR RI," he said.
