The Minister Of Transportation Asks For The Implementation Of The Nataru Transportation To Be A Lesson For Eid 2025

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi asked all his staff and transportation stakeholders to make the implementation of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 transportation a lesson for Eid 2025 transportation.

"The 2025 dispersal is not long before. What we are doing during Christmas and this new year should be a lesson that we apply in the face of the 2025 Eid homecoming. That way, people will get better services," said the Minister of Transportation while inspecting Tanjung Emas Port Semarang, Central Java, Tuesday (31/12/2024).

The Minister of Transportation, in a statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, said that matters that should be of concern to relevant stakeholders in the transportation sector include the safety of passengers, services, facilities, and cooperation between related parties.

"I hope everyone is united in working together. The Ministry of Transportation, BUMN, operators provide good service to the community," said the Minister of Transportation.

During his visit to Tanjung Emas Port, the Minister of Transportation visited the Integrated Planning and Control Room at the passenger terminal. The room serves to digitally monitor all port services, including loading and unloading services for ships, container terminals and non-packages, as well as traffic management.

Tanjung Emas Port is one of 264 monitoring ports in the implementation of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 sea transportation.

Currently, Tanjung Emas Port is preparing six ships, consisting of two PT Pelni ships and four PT Dharma Lautan Utama ships with the Pontianak, Ketapang, Kumai, Sampit, and Karimun Java routes.

During his visit, the Minister of Transportation was accompanied by the Director General (Dirjen) of Sea Transportation Antoni Arif Priadi.

The Ministry of Transportation recorded that as many as 110.6 million people are predicted to travel during the 2024/2025 Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Based on a survey conducted by the Ministry of Transportation, the distribution of users of public transportation will be dominated by air travel, reaching 8.2 million airplane passengers.

Meanwhile, rail transportation is predicted to transport around 6.8 million passengers. The land transportation sector through the terminal is estimated to serve around 2.5 million passengers.

For crossing modes and ports, it is estimated that they will serve 1.6 million and 1.3 million people, respectively. Meanwhile, the rest are private vehicle users.

Especially for private vehicle users who will cross the toll road, the Ministry of Transportation ensures that the free tariff policy only applies to a number of functional toll roads or is still in the process of being worked on.
