JAKARTA The families of victims of sexual abuse in the Ciracas area, East Jakarta experienced economic difficulties. After their child became a victim of sexual violence, the victim's parents complained about the economic condition of their family which was far from prosperous.

The Head of Women and Children Service (PPA) of the East Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim, Iptu Sri Yatmini, said that his party was proposing assistance to the Ministry of Social Affairs for victims' families in order to get MSME business capital assistance.

"We ask for MSME assistance (for the victim's family), usually it's for selling, not (assistance in the form of) money. The victim, her parents are difficult, there are many children. To help survive," said Iptu Sri when confirmed by VOI, Friday, January 26.

Iptu Sri said, the victim's father was only a odd worker. Meanwhile, they have 5 children including one of the victims of sexual violence.

"Later, the assistance will be used for the sale of various kinds of (business types), so they will be given equipment and capital along with the merchandise to be sold," he said.

The type of business referred to by Iptu Sri can vary, depending on the environmental conditions of the victim's parents. The assistance will be given to the victim's parents in the near future.

"After receiving assistance, the victim's father must work and the victim's mother can continue the MSME business provided from the social ministry," he said.

The assistance was given to the victim's parents after they underwent an assessment at the East Jakarta Metro Police and was attended by the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs.

Previously, a kindergarten boy with the initials PA (6) became a victim of sexual abuse by a junior high school student on the edge of Cipinang River, East Jakarta recently.

The perpetrator has been arrested and becomes a suspect even though his status is a child in conflict with the law. The perpetrator is threatened with 15 years in prison, and is currently being held in a special house.
