When Will Squid Game 3 Release? This Is Director Hwang Dong Hyuk's Answer

JAKARTA - The Squid Game series just released its second season on Netflix on December 26 yesterday. The serial creator, Hwang Dong Hyuk, leaked when the third season could be watched by the audience.

Earlier this year, Netflix confirmed the series will end with a third season scheduled for release in 2025.

"At this point, whatever I say can be a spoiler, so I'm careful," Hwang Dong Hyuk as the director told Variety.

"But what I can say is, after the second season was released, I believe we will announce the release date of the third season soon," he continued.

When asked when the third season of Squid Game will be released specifically, Hwang Dong Hyuk has his own answer.

"I expect the third season to be released in summer or fall next year," he said.

The Squid Game series, which was released in 2021, stole the public's attention and became one of the most watched series titles. Hwang Dong Hyuk admitted that this story was realized after 10 years of rejection from various production houses.

Then, Netflix continued the series with two seasons filled with South Korean big names and several new names.

On Squid Game 2, Seong Gi Hun's (Lee Jung Jae) adventures continued after he became the winner of the previous competition. Now, he is determined to find the mastermind of the game maker who caused the death of a number of people.

Gi Hun used his money to buy a robot building and looked for it, but the struggle was not easy because the people around the Squid Game were very closed. On the other hand, Hwang Jun Ho (Wi Ha Joon) is looking for his brother who has been missing for a long time, and suspects his brother is joining the Squid Game.
