Whale Carcasses Stranded On Lingga Beach Buried By Residents
The supervision of Lingga Regency Marine and Fisheries Resources (PSDKP) together with residents buried the carcasses of killer whales found stranded on Nyiur Garden Beach, Lingga Regency, Riau Islands (Kepri).
"Immediately buried in the vicinity of the discovery location, assisted by local residents," said Head of the Lingga Regency PSDKP Team, Suyono, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 16.
The 3.8 meter long whale carcass, he said, was first discovered by local residents. Then the discovery of the whale was reported to PSDKP and related agencies.

He explained that the whale carcasses found were still small. For the type itself is a killer whale. When found by residents, the whale was dead.
"The type of carcass is a fake killer whale or PopeKiller Whale in LatinPseudorca Crassidens," he said.
He said the whale was thought to have only died a few hours before it was found by residents. Because there is no visible damage and smell in the whale carcass.
"If you look at it clearly, it's still new because there has been no physical change in the damaged or odor. It is estimated that it is only about 3 hours. The fish is still small, only 2.3 meters in size when it is already large it can weigh up to 8 to 10 tons and is more than 10 meters long," said Suyono.
