JAKARTA - Cybersecurity researcher Kaspersky has revealed that it has identified a new ransomware attack that uses BitLocker Microsoft, which is trying to encrypt the company's files.

What's concerning in this case is that BitLocker is, where BitLocker was originally designed to reduce the risk of data theft or exploitation, but cybercriminals use it for malicious negative purposes.

"For companies that use BitLocker, it is important to ensure a strong password and secure recovery key storage. Routine backups, stored offline and tested, are also important safeguards," explained Cristian Souza, Incident Response Specialist at Kaspersky Global Emergency Response Team.
