Rahmad Darmawan, Ready To Face Persija Jakarta In The First Week Of Liga 1

JAKARTA - Barito Putera coach, Rahmad Darmawan (RD), ensured that his team was in good condition to face Persija Jakarta in the first week of Liga 1 Indonesia 2024/25 at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), Jakarta, Saturday 10 August at 19.00 WIB.

In an official statement quoted from the Indonesian League website, Saturday, RD revealed that his foster children are ready to fight and aim for full points even though they have to play in front of Persija Jakarta supporters. "Overall, players are ready in tomorrow's match and I hope they are able to maintain their motivation. Then their way of playing is like in the preparation times that have been done," said RD.

The former Persipura Jayapura coach added that Barito Putera came to Jakarta with high confidence after undergoing an intensive preparation period in Banjarbaru and Yogyakarta. RD also admitted that Persija Jakarta was still filled by the majority of players from the previous season, which meant that the understanding between players had been well established.

However, RD emphasized the importance of focus and vigilance for Barito Putera players considering the change in tactics applied by Persija during the pre-season tournament. "There are pluses and minuses. On the one hand, we also benefit from a more focused preparation period. All possibilities may occur. Persija individually has quality, indeed the players have quality," said RD.

Laskar Antasari's squad recorded 24 players on their way to Jakarta. Even so, it is estimated that goalkeeper Muhammad Ridho will still not be able to play in the match later.

This match is expected to feature competitive games, with Barito Putera trying to achieve maximum results at home to opponents and Persija Jakarta hoping to take full advantage of the support of its supporters.
