Muhammad Kece Alleged Fpr Blasphemy Suspect Is Temporarily Arrested Until September

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has officially detained YouTuber Muhammad Kece, who is a suspect in the alleged blasphemy case. The detention was carried out after investigators arrested him in the Bali area.

"Muhammad Kece was detained last night (yesterday) and was taken into custody at 21.50 p.m. local time", said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan when confirmed, Thursday, August 26.

The temporary detention period for Muhammad Kece is 20 days. During the detention, investigators will explore the case of alleged blasphemy.

Because, so far, the motive behind Muhamamd Kece's statement that caused turmoil in the community is unknown. Moreover, investigators will also explore the alleged involvement of other parties.

"He will be detained from August 25, 2021, until September 13, 2021", said Ramadhan.

For information, the suspect in the alleged blasphemy case, Muhammad Kece, was arrested on Tuesday, August 24, at around 19.30 p.m. WITA (Central Indonesian Time).

Muhammad Kece was arrested in his hiding place in Banjar Untal-Untal, Dulang Village, North Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali Province. He was alone in the hiding place.

The statement was considered blasphemy when Muhammad Kece uploaded a video on his YouTube account. Where he inserts the word 'Jesus' in the Muslim greeting sentence

"Assalamualaikum, warrahmatuyesus wabarakatu", said Muhammad Kece.

In addition, he also changed several other sentences. Thus, Muhammad Kece was criticized by various parties.

"Alhamdulillah, jesus hirabbilalamin, all praise is due to the presence of the Lord Jesus, the father in heaven who deserves to be praised and worshiped", said Muhammad Kece.
