JAKARTA - Ukraine on Wednesday accused Russia of carrying out more than 30 attacks on its energy infrastructure since the two sides agreed in March to halt attacks on the target.

Russia has attacked energy facilities in Kherson and Mykolaiv in the south and Poltava in the country's center for the past 24 hours, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi said at a news conference.

"We consider the energy ceasefire to start on March 25," he said.

"Unfortunately, we can see Russia violating this agreement almost every day. It hasn't even been a month since the agreement was made, but Russia has violated this agreement more than 30 times," he said.

Both Kyiv and Moscow accuse each other of violating a US-brokered 30-day ceasefire over energy infrastructure attacks.

On Wednesday, Russia's Defense Ministry said Ukraine had launched six attacks on Russia's energy infrastructure over the past day, state news agency RIA reported.

Tykhyi said Ukraine provided details about the alleged abuse to its Western allies.

The limited energy ceasefire is expected to be a stepping stone to the full ceasefire, which ultimately paved the way for a peace agreement that would end the war for more than three years with Russia.

Ukraine has approved a broader US ceasefire proposal, but Russia has effectively blocked it by imposing additional requirements.

Fighting continues to rage along the more than 1,000 km (600 miles) frontline. Russian troops are moving forward in eastern Ukraine. The fiercest fighting took place around the direction of Pokrovsk, Toretsk, and Lyman, the Ukrainian military said in its daily update.

Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelensky said Moscow was also planning a new attack in the northeast towards Kharkiv and Sumy.
