COVID-19 Update As Of May 21: 5.746 Positive Cases Found

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released data on the development of handling COVID-19. Based on the results of the examination of 92.052 specimens as of today, 5.746 cases were found to be positive confirmations.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was found in Indonesia reached 1.764.644 people", quoted from the Ministry of Health data, Friday, May 21.

Thus, the total accumulative cases recovered reached 1.626.142 people.

On the other hand, cases of death due to COVID-19 increased by 186 people. With this addition, the total accumulative cases died to 49.073 people.

Still referring to the data of the Ministry of Health, for the province with the highest number of positive cases, namely, West Java. There were 1.085 people confirmed positive COVID-19.

Then, the second province with the most positive cases of COVID-19 is DKI Jakarta. At least 856 people were declared exposed to COVID-19. Furthermore, Central Java with 653 cases, Riau with 512 cases, and West Sumatra with 362 positive cases.

Meanwhile, the province with cured cases occupied West Java with 1,.484 people. In the second place, Riau with 649 cases. Furthermore, West Sumatra 314 cases, and Yogyakarta 263 cases.

So far there are 8 provinces that report the addition of cases under 10, among others, North Maluku, Gorontalo, Southeast Sulawesi, and West Sulawesi. Then, recorded 1 province without a positive case namely, Papua.

Furthermore, the number of specimens that have been examined reached 15.904.901. In detail, a total of 14.008.304 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), 177.725 specimens using molecular rapid tests (TCM), and 1.718.872 specimens with antigen examinations.

"The number of positive results per day with the number of specimens examined (positivity rate) as much as 15.09 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspect cases, it is recorded at 77.431 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
