5 Days Of Eid Al-Fitr Backflow, 276 COVID-19 Positive Travelers

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya said 276 travelers arriving in Jakarta were declared COVID-19 positive. They were confirmed positive based on antigen swab tests at 14 checkpoints and visited the travelers' homes.

"Last night, the number of vehicles inspected was 1,994 vehicles at 14 points. There are 276 reactive or positive numbers", Metro Jaya Police Public Relations Chief Kombes Yusri Yunus told reporters on Friday, May 21.

Most of the hundreds of people who were positively confirmed, Yusri continued, were asked to undergo self-isolation. The rest are directed to isolation in Wisma Atlet and nearby hospitals from each of the positive travelers' residences.

"With the details of self-isolation 210 people, (isolation in) Wisma Atlet 65 people and other reference places there are 91 people", he said.

Yusri continued, with the increasing number of positive cases found, the tracing scheme continues. Moreover, the peak of the backflow is predicted to occur this week.

"This will go on because we predict this Kumat and Saturday, Sunday is the peak of the backflow because the 24th will enter the office. So there is a prediction until Sunday is quite solid back to Jakarta", he said.
