JAKARTA - Israel's attack on Lebanese Bekaa Valley killed more than 60 people in dozens of cities.

Rescue workers were still removing the bodies from the rubble on Tuesday, October 29 morning.

Israel has stepped up its airstrikes in Lebanon over the past month, saying it is targeting the Lebanese Hezbollah armed group.

Lebanese officials, human rights groups and the affected residents of the city said the attack was indiscriminate.

No evacuation orders were given to any city that was attacked overnight. Bachir Khodor district governor said 67 people were killed and more than 120 injured and the death toll is expected to rise.

"Those are just the people who have been rescued from the rubble and we still don't know the exact death toll. This is the most cruel day forā–pertemuanek in the past year," Khodor told Reuters.

The death toll includes nine people killed in Ram, said Nazih Mayor Noun, including a woman and four children.

"Now it's quiet, but we don't know how we can continue the funeral given the security situation," said Noun.

Most of Bekaa Valley is Hezbollah's fort. There has been no immediate comment from Israel on the attack.
