Prabowo Attends The Last Working Meeting As Minister Of Defense At The Indonesian House Of Representatives

JAKARTA - Prabowo Subianto attended the last working meeting as Minister of Defense with Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 25.

To note, Prabowo has always been absent from attending the meeting with Commission I of the DPR since he was appointed President-elect of the Republic of Indonesia. This is because the General Chairperson of Gerindra often carries out the duties of the state both as Minister of Defense and representing President Joko Widodo meets other countries' leaders.

From VOI's observation, Prabowo arrived at the Parliament Complex at around 14:50 WIB. The former Danjen Kopassus wore a white shirt wrapped in a black coat and blue.

Prabowo was immediately greeted by the Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives and Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Sugiono.

Terlihat sejumlah anggota DPR RI Fraksi Partai Gerindra turut menyambut Prabowo seperti Waketum sekaligus Wakil Ketua Komisi IV Budi Djiwandono. Terlihat pula Ketua Komisi I DPR RI Meutya Hafid turut menyambut kedatangan Prabowo.

Previously, Prabowo's presence at the DPR Commission I meeting was revealed by a spokesman for Prabowo, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak. He said Prabowo would attend the Commission I meeting of the DPR RI on Wednesday, September 25, afternoon.

"(Prabowo) was present," said Dahnil when confirmed via text message Wednesday, September 25, noon.

Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives held a working meeting with Defense Minister Prabowo, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi represented by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. As well as Minister of Law and Human Rights Supratman Andi Agtas.

The agenda for the meeting was level I discussions on the 5 Bills for Cooperation in the Defense Sector. However, it did not explain in detail what bills would be discussed.

The meeting agenda begins with the opening, the working committee report (panja), the reading of the bill script.

Then proceed with the final opinion of mini factions, the final opinion of mini-government, the signing of bill scripts, and decision making to proceed at level II talks.
