JAKARTA - The Clean Tourism Movement (GWB) in the Old City Area of Jakarta will be held on February 16, 2025. This step is a collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) together with the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta and Artha Graha Peduli.
Deputy for Destination Development and Infrastructure of the Ministry of Tourism, Hariyanto, in his statement in Jakarta, Friday (14/2/2025), said that after being carried out at Parangtritis Beach, Bantul, DIY, the Clean Tourism Movement was again held as a concrete step in creating the cleanliness of the destination. GWB is also held to strengthen the spirit and collaborative steps towards quality and sustainable tourism.
The implementation of the GWB in the Kota Tua Tourism Area, known as one of Jakarta's tourism icons, was chosen as the activation location to convey a message from a joint mission to build synergies in protecting the environment, which is not only a temporary action, but also an effort to build long-term habits and awareness," Hariyanto said.
The implementation of the 'Clean Tourism Movement' in the Kota Tua Tourism Area is also expected to be a symbol of the start of collective movements to realize sustainable tourism in DKI Jakarta.
"Synergy between the central government, local governments, and local communities is expected to be able to create long-term impacts, making cleanliness an inherent culture in every tourist destination," said Hariyanto.
The 'Clean Tourism Movement' in the Old City Area of Jakarta also aims to create cleanliness of tourism destinations in the Kota Tua area as a world-class cultural tourist destination, as well as the center of the historical civilization of Jakarta. The implementation of GWB in this area is also a form of activity to prepare for the 5th century anniversary of Jakarta.
