The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled an examination of Kaesang Pangarep on suspicion of gratification of private jet facilities to the United States (US).
KPK chairman Nawawi Pomolango said he had ordered the Directorate of Gratification and the Directorate of Complaints for the KPK Public Report to schedule clarification of the youngest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as well as the General Chairperson of PSI.
"Kaesang cannot be considered personally, all the public knows what Kaesang is, can it be continued like that. So the connection is there. The KPK has the authority to take care of things like that," said Nawawi at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 3.
Nawawi said that the KPK was waiting for the follow-up results submitted by his party to the LHKPN Directorate. He also denied that his institution had deliberately taken care of MAKI's report regarding the alleged gratification received by Kaesang.
"Indeed, we have provisions in relation to such handling, and so far I have thought of walking as usual," said Nawawi.
"(Intentionally it dragged on until the change of leadership, ed) Nothing. Nothing," he continued.

Nawawi reiterated that the KPK is scheduling clarification for Kaesang even though there is an assumption that the person concerned is not a public official. Clarification, he said, was related to the convenience obtained by Kaesang as the son of the president and younger brother of the elected Vice President, Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
"I gave an answer that they (Director of Gratification, ed) are temporarily preparing the scheduling for the clarification," he concluded.
