The General Election Commission (KPU) noted that there were three regions in Central Java Province (Central Java) that received registration for one single candidate pair after the registration stage for regional head candidates for the 2024 Pilkada was closed last night.

"There are three districts where only one candidate pair registers, namely Brebes, Banyumas, and Sukoharjo regencies," said Central Java KPU chairman Handi Tri Ujino in Semarang, Friday, August 30, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the registration of prospective regional head candidates was officially closed on Thursday, August 29 at 23.59 WIB.

However, for three regions where there is only one prospective candidate pair, an extension of the registration period will be carried out for the next three days

"In the event that for the next three days there is only one candidate who registers, the KPU will continue to determine as a candidate for election participants," he said.

Later, continued Handi, ballots will still provide empty columns that can still be filled by voters during the voting.

The data collected stated that the candidate pair who registered at the Sukoharjo KPU would be Etik Suryani-Eko Sapto Purnomo.

Meanwhile, at KPU Banyumas there is the Sadewo Tri Lastiono-Dwi Asih Lintarti pair and at KPU Brebes who registered for the Paramitha Widya Kusuma-Wurja pair.
