6 Dealers Of 30 Kg Marijuana Medan Network Arrested In Bali, From Rappers To Surfing Trainers

Six suspects in the Medan, North Sumatra network drug case, were arrested by officers of the Bali Province National Narcotics Agency (BNN)

DENPASAR - Six suspects in the Medan network drug case, North Sumatra, were arrested by officers of the Bali Province National Narcotics Agency (BNN).

These traffickers were arrested in different places by three different networks controlled from Medan. The total amount of evidence confiscated was 30 kilograms of marijuana.

"The total amount of evidence for 30 kilograms of marijuana has been secured by 6 suspects," said Head of National Narcotics Board of Bali Province (BNNP), Brigadier General I Putu Gede Suastawa, at the office of the National Narcotics Board of Bali Province (BNNP), Denpasar, Friday, March 26.

For the first network, there were two suspects arrested with the initials FKS alias Axer, an indie rap musician in Bali and the other with the initials FL alias Ncek who was a surfing coach in Bali.

They were arrested in the South Kuta area and in Denpasar, on Monday, March 1. From the suspect, 1.9 kilograms of marijuana and a 60 cm tall cannabis tree were confiscated.

"The suspect is the Medan network. Axer is a user since 2015 while Ncet is a user from 2003," he added.

Meanwhile, the second network was suspect Andri and Jhon. They were arrested in the Canggu area, Badung Regency, Bali, on Thursday, March 4.

They were arrested when they received a package of marijuana through a delivery service from Medan, totaling 718 grams of marijuana. As for John with evidence of 1.4 kilograms of marijuana.

The mode is the same, namely receiving marijuana packages from Medan to be distributed in Bali with the target market for surf players and tourists.

"They are suppliers from Medan  (to Bali)," said Suastawa.

Then, for the final network, namely the two suspects, namely YS alias Mbing and NMK alias Kosim. They are the Medan-Banyuwangi, East Java network.

"For this Mbing, the payment is 9.8 kilograms and Kosim 15.9 Kg. As a courier and controller from Medan," explained Suastawa.

The marijuana was brought from Banyuwangi by renting a speed boat or fast boat and got off at Tabanan. After that, marijuana was brought to Ubud, Gianyar for distribution.

"These three networks, they have different networks from Medan. Many of the Medan networks are sent to Bali because there is so much supply coming from Aceh, Medan," said Suastawa.

The suspects admitted that they were not given money but only marijuana. However, officers are still doing research.

"In the meantime, they confessed that they were only given marijuana. It could be that the marijuana was sold to them and turned into money," said Suastawa.

These suspects were charged under Article 114 paragraph (2), Article 111 paragraph (2), and Article 132 paragraph (1) of Indonesian Law number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics.
