JAKARTA - Medan Mayor Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution is returning to the old buildings to restore the value of the Kesawan cultural heritage area.

Bobby Nasution said that many historical buildings have changed shape. Some are even out of shape, neglected, and disputed.

"One of them is Warrenhuis, which used to be the first supermarket in Medan", said Bobby on Instagram @bobbynst, Wednesday, March 17.

Warrenhuis today has been cleared by the relevant regional apparatus organizations (OPD). In a short video shared on his personal page, you can see that the heritage building is worn out and filled with tall weeds.

Bobby also asked that Warrenhuis be rearranged and then returned to its original form.

"Warrenhuis architecture must survive", said President Jokowi's son-in-law.

Bobby said, at this time he had also collaborated with related ministries to strengthen the improvement of the Kesawan heritage area.

Bobby's action to renovate this historic building in Medan received praise and positive reception from the community. Netizens who saw Bobby's post immediately added a support comment.

Some hope that Bobby will be re-elected as mayor when his tenure ends.
