Suzuki Leads India's Most Car Sales In December 2024

JAKARTA - India's automotive market closed its books in 2024 by obtaining wholesales sales of 4.3 million vehicles. This was also driven by several automotive manufacturers who got positive results in December 2024.

Launching from the Times of India, Friday, January 3, specifically for December sales, Suzuki managed to become a market leader in that period with a sales book of up to 130,117 units, an increase of 24 percent compared to the previous year at the same time.

The impressive results achieved by the manufacturer bearing the 'S' logo were achieved thanks to growth in various segments, including mini vehicles, compact vehicles, utility vehicles, and minivans.

In second place is Tata Motors which received sales of 44,230 units, an increase of 1.12 percent compared to December 2023. The electric vehicle segment (EV) has a big role by recording 5,562 units or soaring 11.11 percent.

Complementing the top three positions is representatives from South Korea, Hyundai contributed up to 42,208 units but decreased 2.4 percent compared to 2023 in the same period.

Meanwhile, other automotive manufacturers from India such as Mahindra ranks fourth as the brand with the most sales in December 2024 with 41,424 units successfully sold, up 18 percent compared to the previous year. It is reported that the SUV segment contributed greatly to its sales.

Complementing the top five is Toyota with 29,529 units in the market, an increase of 29 percent compared to the previous year.

Then, other automotive manufacturers such as Honda managed to sell 9,460 units last month or decreased by 18.81 percent compared to the previous year. However, overall sales increased 20 percent compared to 2023.

Morris Garage (MG) earned impressive results in December 2024 by recording sales of 7,516 units, up 55 percent compared to before. It is reported that this achievement was driven by sales from Windsor EV which books sales of more than 10,000 units in the last three months.
