PKS Usung Anies-Sohibul, PSI DKI Still Prepares A Surprise For Candidates For The DKI Gubernatorial Election In August

JAKARTA - The Regional Leadership Council of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (DPW PSI) DKI said there would be a surprise in August 2024 regarding the name of the candidate for governor (Readgub) of DKI to take part in this year's Election of Governor and Deputy Governor (Pilgub).

"Candidates are of course still very dynamic, as stated by the chairman, Mas Kaesang in many meetings, namely waiting for the surprise in August," said Chairman of the DKI Jakarta PSI DPW Elva Farhi Qolbina during a visit to the NasDem State Defense Academy (ABN) building, Jakarta., reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 25.

Elva explained that his party is still attracting potential parties to be able to solve DKI Jakarta problems such as congestion issues, waste emergency in Jakarta and community welfare problems, especially the problem of social assistance (bansos) that is not on target.

The PSI and NasDem factions agreed that this should be a special concern for the next Jakarta leader, especially ahead of the DKI gubernatorial election.

"Today, we made a second political gathering visit to NasDem, after previously staying in touch with PKS," he said.

Elva said the discussion during this visit was related to the legislative level efforts in DKI Jakarta considering that NasDem also had the opportunity to get a seat led by the DPRD.

"This means that there must be more concrete synergies and collaborations later at the legislative level," he said.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the DPW of the Jakarta NasDem Party, Wibi Andrino, is still waiting for the direction of the General Chairperson of Surya Paloh regarding the DKI gubernatorial election.

He emphasized that the meeting with PSI DKI was to build cooperation in the legislative sector and had not yet led to other topics.

"Regarding the regional elections, maybe in the future, we are still waiting, who knows, Mas Kaesang wants to come back to the NasDem office to Jakarta," said Wibi.

Previously, the Regional Leadership Council (DPW) of the DKI Jakarta National Democratic Party (NasDem) proposed three candidates for the 2024 DKI Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor Election (Pilgub) to the party's DPP, namely Anies Baswedan, Ahmad Syahroni and Wibi Andrino.

Meanwhile, PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep has pocketed the figure who will be promoted as a candidate for Governor of DKI in this year's regional election.
