JAKARTA - Two groups of church congregations were involved in clashes on Jalan Budhi, Cawang, Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta, Monday night, June 24. They attacked each other using wood and stones.

The police who arrived at the location immediately tried to intervene. As a result of the clashes, Budhi road access to residential areas was closed.

It was later discovered that the clashes began with a ban on worshiping the congregation of the Anungerah Church of Christ (GABK).

"We have a schedule for mothers worship every Monday. At that time there were several mothers who came to worship, they were prohibited," said Pastor GABK, HS Watimuri when confirmed, Tuesday, June 25.

Furthermore, HS Watimuri said that this feud had actually been mediated by a joint agreement by GPIB and GABK. Use the building together, so GPIB at 08.00 WIB and GABK at 10.00 WIB and 18.00 WIB.

"It was agreed together, because using it with GPIB made a schedule for him to put it outside the wall. And from GABK also made a schedule to put it on the post," he said.

However, on its way, GPIB installed a down payment for the schedule for the use of the church. Knowing this installation, residents and GABK congregants also set a schedule for the use of the church.

"So they don't accept that we are installing a slow schedule for worship," he said.

Not only that, after the residents and the GABK congregation installed a saddle, the GPIB congregation occupied the church by bringing mattresses into the church. So that many outsiders took part in the church.

"So the clashes occurred apart from the prohibition of worship because the residents were upset because many outsiders occupied the church," he said.
