JAKARTA - The Tesla Model Y sold 1.22 million units globally in 2023. This figure effectively makes it the world's best-selling car by volume in 2023.

Now Tesla is getting more and more mature in preparing for the Model Y update. The latest news for the model was caught on camera testing the road in Europe.

Citing from the Carscoops page, Friday, January 3, it seems that nothing has changed from this car labeled Project Juniper code, but it is expected to be embedded with many new features to stay ahead of competition and maintain global dominance.

A few months ago the model was also caught on camera testing the road, a prototype disguised by the updated 'Model Y' is likely to be marketed in 2026, and indicates that the production version will begin soon in China.

At first glance, the updated Tesla Model Y Juniper appears to be imitating the Model 3 Highland, seen recently in Europe where the car is slightly improved at the front.

Seen, the latest Tesla Model Y will feature separate LED headlights and slimmer bumper designs. This look is similar to what was seen in California some time ago.

Meanwhile, the back is still covered in camouflage but it looks slimmer and the new LED graphics are visible. It is predicted that the back will get a wide light. If produced, this could be one of the most striking design improvements.

On the inside, the updated Model Y is expected to carry a more minimalist design by removing traditional sein lights, to a pressneling lever. The steering control will most likely be replaced with a touch button on the steering wheel.

In addition, this updated Model Y will also feature a redesigned steering wheel, a slimmer infotainment screen bezel, a more supportive front seat with a cooling function, to multicolor ambient lighting.
