Sofyan, Legislative Candidate For DPRK Tamiang Had Thrown Away Cellphones And Identity Cards To Eliminate Traces

JAKARTA - Director of Narcotics Crime at Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Mukti Juharsa said the candidate for the Tamiang DPRK, Aceh named Sofyan had thrown away his cell phone and identity card. According to him, this was done to hide his whereabouts when the police chased the case of possession of 70 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

"He threw away his cellphone and identity card," Mukti told reporters at Terminal 2 of Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang City, Monday, May 27.

The police are tracking again, even he has been missing for 1 month. But it can detect 3 weeks before he removes his whereabouts.

"Alhamdulillah, 3 weeks earlier we succeeded in tracking the perpetrators. Yes, finally yesterday in Aceh Tamiang at the place to buy clothes," he said.

Currently, the suspect has been brought to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police. For this reason, Sofyan was charged with Article 114 Paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 132 Paragraph 1 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics, with the maximum threat of the death penalty.

For information, the candidate for the Aceh Tamiang DPRK, Sofyan, was arrested for his involvement in the distribution of 70 kg of methamphetamine.

He was arrested at a clothing store in the Manyak Payed area, Aceh Tamiang Regency, on Saturday, May 25.

The arrests came after 3 previous suspects had been arrested in the Lampung area. Then they admitted that they got the illicit goods from the suspect Sofyan.
