Banten Prosecutor's Office Desak Activist Completes TCW Corruption Allegations

TANGERANG - Activist of the National Leadership Council (DPN) Gema Kosgoro, Egi Hendrawan, urged the Banten High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) to seriously investigate allegations of corruption involving Tubagus Chaeri Wardana (TCW) alias Wawan. TCW is the husband of Banten Governor Candidate Airin Rachmi Diany who was involved in corruption and bribery cases at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

The people of Banten have been very disappointed with the corrupt practices involving the ruling political dynasty for decades. This corruption has hampered development and made people suffer," said Egi, Thursday, November 21.

Egi welcomed the decision of the Banten Attorney General's Office to reopen the alleged corruption case of sports center land, which was previously reported to have been terminated with an Order to Terminate Case Investigation (SP3). According to him, this step is important to fulfill the community's sense of justice.

"My people and millions of Banten fully support the Banten Attorney General's Office to thoroughly investigate the case of sports center and Situ Ranca Gede Jakung. We hope that the settlement of this case will be an entry point for the settlement of other major corruption cases in Banten," said Egi.

Head of Legal Information (Penkum) of the Banten Attorney General's Office, Rangga Adekresna, SH., MH., confirmed the plan to summon witnesses related to the two alleged corruption cases. "Yes, that's right, witness examination will be carried out on Friday (11/22/2024) at the Banten Prosecutor's Office," Rangga told reporters, Wednesday, November 20.

For the case of procuring sports center land, apart from TCW, other witnesses summoned were Fahmi Hakim (Chairman of the Banten DPRD), Erwin Prihandini, Deddy Suandi, Iwan Hermawan, Dadang Prijatna, and Petri Ramos.

"Especially Fahmi Hakim, he was also summoned in the case of alleged corruption in assets belonging to the Banten Provincial Government in the form of Situ Ranca Gede Jakung covering an area of 250,000 square meters in Babakan Village, Bandung District, Serang Regency," explained Rangga.

Allegations of corruption in the procurement of sports center land in Kemanian Village, Curug District, Serang City, occurred in 2008 2011. This case involved a large budget allegedly misappropriated by related parties, including TCW and a number of important officials. In addition, corruption related to Situ Ranca Gede Jakung's assets is also a public concern because these assets are strategic value for the Banten Provincial Government.

Egi hopes that the settlement of these two cases will be the beginning for disclosing other corrupt practices that harm the people of Banten. "We have to save Banten from corruption that has long been entrenched," he concluded.
