JAKARTA - Saudi Arabian investment company Qiddiya will build the world's first "Dragon Ball" theme park, inviting visitors to adventure as well as reminisce about this famous animation from Japang.
The announcement was made by the franchise owner last March. The park will have an area of more than 500,000 square meters and will feature seven areas re-creating various iconic sites from its original series, including the Kame House, the Capsule Corporation and Beerus' Planet, according to reports.
Later, visitors to this theme park can follow the adventures together from the beginning of the anime to "Dragon Ball Super."
"I am very impressed with the vision of presenting cutting-edge and challenging entertainment for the people of Saudi Arabia who are completely different from anything they have experienced before," said Toei Animation President Katsuhiro Takagi, quoted by Arab News Japan May 3.
The amusement park will have five advanced rides among more than 30 attractions. There will also be a 70-meter-high Shenron statue, the magic dragon of the series, which contains a large roller foul ride. In addition, the park will have several hotels and restaurants.
The park will be the world's first attraction based on the popular media franchise, citing the BBC.
In addition, there will also be fully occupied hotels and restaurants in this park to allow fans to immerse themselves into the world of Dragon Ball for a full day.
Qiddiya's party uploaded a video on the company's YouTube channel showing the park's appearance.
It is known that this announcement came after Akira Toriyama, creator of the series "Dragon Ball", died on March 1 at the age of 68, leaving thousands of people around the world mourning her loss.
