South Sulawesi Governor Nurdin Abdullah Corruption Suspect, IDR 2 Billion Confiscated From OTT KPK

JAKARTA - The Governor of South Sulawesi (Sulsel) Nurdin Abdullah is a corruption suspect. From a series of hand-catching operations (OTT), IDR 2 billion was confiscated.

"Friday, February 26, 2021, the KPK Team received information from the public about the alleged receipt of a certain amount of money by the State Administrators given by AS in Bulukumba, while at around 00.00 Central Indonesia Time, ER and money in a suitcase of around IDR 2 billion were also secured at their official residence," said KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri in a press conference at the Corruption and Eradication Commission (KPK) building, Sunday, February 28 evening.

In this OTT series, Prof. NA, nickname of Nurdin Abdullah, was also secured at 02.00 Central Indonesia Time, Saturday, February 27 at the office of the governor of South Sulawesi.

The KPK explained that the Director of PT. Agung Perdana Bulukumba, AS, already knew Prof. NA well. AS is mentioned by the KPK, wants to get several infrastructure work projects in South Sulawesi in the 2021 budget year.

"Since February 2021, there has been active communication between AS and ER as a representative and at the same time as NA confidants to ensure that AS gets back the project he wants in 2021," said Firli.

In some of these communications, it was suspected that there was a fee bargaining to determine each of the project values that AS' companies would later undertake.

"NA (Nurdin Abdullah) told ER that the continuation of the Bira tourism project will be carried out again by AS which then NA gave approval and ordered ER to immediately speed up the preparation of the DED (Detail Engineering Design) document which will be auctioned off in the 2022 FY Local Government Budget," said Firli.

At the end of February, ER met with Prof. Nurdin Abdullah regarding the project fee that AS was working on in Bulukumba that had been given to another party.

"At that time, NA said the important thing was that AS could still assist NA activities. AS then on February 26, 2021, allegedly handed over the money around IDR 2 billion to NA through ER, "continued Firli.

In addition, Nurdin Abdullah is also suspected of receiving money from other contractors, including the following:

- At the end of 2020, Nurdin Abdullah received IDR 200 million.

- Mid February 2021, through SB Nurdin Abdullah received IDR 1 billion

- Early February 2021, through SB Nurdin Abdullah received IDR 2.2 billion.
