Box truck accident on the Puncak Bogor route

The Bogor Police Traffic Unit is still investigating the case of a series of accidents involving a box car with five four-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles in the Puncak area, Bogor, West Java on Wednesday, January 24 afternoon.

Head of Gakum Satlantas Bogor Police, Iptu Angga Nugraha, said that the driver of the Mitshubishi Canter box truck with police number B-9740-UXX has been secured and is under further investigation.

"The truck driver who crashed has been secured, is still at the Ciawi office (Polsek)," Angga said when confirmed, Thursday, January 25.

Angga said that currently the status of the box truck driver is still a witness. Therefore, his party is still conducting a deeper examination, in order to find out any allegations of negligence.

"Still a witness in the investigation. Still under investigation. Because we are waiting from the team to test the vehicle," he said

Regarding the evidence and witnesses have been examined to strengthen evidence in determining the status of the box truck driver.

"Witnesses examined are 3," concluded

Angga Nugraha revealed, from the temporary results of the crime scene processing, it was known that the cause of the accident was a human error, namely the fault of the driver of the mineral water truck.

"The temporary assumption is that it is a human error," said Angga when confirmed, Wednesday, January 24.

The car on the Puncak Bogor route hit a number of vehicles, Tuesday, January 23 at around 11.00 WIB. The white box car drove from Puncak to Gadog, across the downhill road and swerved to the left and then experienced a failed brake.

The box car then hit a Honda Beat motorcycle with police number F 2713 RO and a Suzuki XL7 minibus with police number F 1582 AAC, then hit the police number F 1994 NZ which was stopped on the left side of the road from the direction of Puncak.

Then, the Suzuki XL7 minibus was pushed to the right of the road, hit the police number D 1914 XA driving from Gadog to Puncak, then hit the Mitsubishi L300 box car number BB 8863 FA which was parked on the shoulder of the right side of the road from the direction of Puncak.

Furthermore, the police number B 9740 UXX box car hit a Honda Beat motorcycle with police number B 4044 SEH which was traveling from the opposite direction and continued to drive and hit two vehicles at once. Namely the motorbike that got under the box car and hit the pillars of the restaurant and the car wheels repair shop.

Bogor Police Traffic Head AKP Rizky Guntama said that until now there were at least 17 people injured as a result of the incident. He also confirmed that no one died in the accident involving the 9 vehicles.

"There were 17 victims. Three of them were children. One person was seriously injured and 16 were slightly injured," said Rizky Guntama.
