The Chairman Of The Ambon DPRD And 2 Deputy Chairs Are Examined By The Prosecutor's Office For Alleged Corruption Cases, Council Secretariat

AMBON - Three leaders of the Ambon City Regional House of Representatives responded to the summons of the Ambon District Attorney to be examined as witnesses in the alleged corruption case of the 2020 Ambon City Regional House of Representatives Secretariat budget corruption amounting to IDR 5.3 billion.

"Those present included the chairman of the Ambon City Regional House of Representatives, Mrs. Ely Toisuta, and two deputy heads of the Regional House of Representatives, Rustam Latupono and Gerald Mailoa", said Ambon's Chief Prosecutor, Dian Frits Nalle, quoted by Antara, Monday, December 13.

According to her, the three heads of the council fulfilled the prosecutor's summons from morning to night and were asked about 30 questions about the secretariat budget which were findings by the Indonesian Vehicle Ownership Certificate (BPK RI) for the Maluku Province Representative.

Gerald Mailoa from the PDI-P, who first appeared at around 09.50 WIT, immediately filled out the guest book at the SPKT section of the Ambon State Prosecutor, and briefly stated to reporters that he was ready to be questioned.

Meanwhile, Regional House of Representatives chairman, Ely Toisuta (Golkar Party), together with Rustam Latupono (Gerindra Party) visited the Ambon State Prosecutor Office at 10:00 WIT at the same time.

Before undergoing the examination, both of them also had time to fill out a guest book at the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT) section of the Ambon State Prosecutor.

The summons of these three board leaders, to be asked for clarification and information as evidence that the Ambon District Attorney is serious about revealing whether or not there has been a criminal act of misappropriating regional finances worth IDR 5.3 billion for the 2020 fiscal year within the Ambon City Regional House of Representatives Secretariat.

The results of the audit of the Maluku Province Representative BPK for the 2020 fiscal year found that the flow of funds of IDR 5.3 billion could not be accounted for.

Previously, in this case, the investigative team had asked for clarification and information from 49 people, including the Secretary of the Council, former Secretary of State, former Secretary of City and Head of Ambon City Planning Board, Finance Staff of Regional House of Representatives Secretariat, Regional House of Representatives Working Group, Commission Assistant, and several contractors.
