Woman In Pulogadung Usually Serve 'Guests' In Apartments, Apparently On The Orders Of Her Own Husband

JAKARTA - A housewife, a resident of Pulogadung Subdistrict, East Jakarta, with the initials FT, was arrested by the police after it was discovered that she was storing methamphetamine in Pulogadung, East Jakarta.

The East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Erwin Kurniawan, explained that the housewife became a meth dealer because her husband, who was in prison, asked her to continue the business.

"So her husband has been caught in prison as a trafficker, then his wife continued for reasons to continue the family's economy," he said in Jakarta, Antara, Monday, December 13.

Erwin explained that FT was arrested in an apartment in the Pulomas Pulogadung area on November 16, 2021, at around 14.00 western Indonesia time.

From the arrest, the police obtained evidence in the form of two plastic packages containing methamphetamine with a total weight of 149 grams, a digital weighing device, and a mobile phone.

"This apartment is not occupied but is used to store methamphetamine," he said.

Erwin said that his party will continue to develop related to FT's arrest to uncover drug trafficking networks.

"We will develop the network, which is suspected to be related to her husband. We will check whether the husband is the controller in the prison," said Erwin.

For his actions, the suspect FT was charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 and Article 112 paragraph 2 of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics. "The threat of imprisonment is a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of 20 years in prison," said Erwin.
