JAKARTA - The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), through the Directorate General of Culture, held a commemoration of the 74th National Film Day which falls on March 30 with the theme Various Films, Crowded with viewers.

Minister of Education and Technology Nadiem Anwar Makarim, expressed his pride in seeing the revival of the Indonesian film world today. He assessed that the quality of Indonesian films continues to increase and the themes raised in Indonesian films are also increasingly diverse.

"The positive impact of this development can be seen from the increasing public confidence in films by the nation's children. Hopefully, Indonesia will continue to have many filmmakers who will make the nation proud, as well as the increasing number of people who love and support Indonesian films," said Nadiem in a written statement received, Saturday, March 30.

On the same occasion, the Director General of Culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Hilmar Farid, revealed that the government will always try to optimally facilitate the cultural sector to strengthen, advance, and maintain ecosystems, one of which is the film industry.

A series of inclusive and sustainable ways have been carried out in order to achieve this goal, so that Indonesian cinema is expected to become the foundation for the development of the nation's character and an unlimited source of innovation.

The event took place from 27 to 31 March 2024 in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Denpasar, Bukittinggi, as well as several other areas in Indonesia.
