Just Operated For 10 Days, Karawang Trash Station Has Served 5,500 Passengers

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) noted that Yogyakarta Karawang Station has served 5,500 passengers since officially operating for 10 days.

The total number of passengers who boarded and descended at Karawang Station is for the period 24 December 2024 to 2 January 2025.

KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa said that the presence of Karawang Station provides positive benefits to community mobility and economic activity in the area.

"In the first 10 days of operation, the average number of passengers up and down at Karawang Station was recorded at 400 to 500 passengers per day," he said in an official statement, Friday, January 3.

"The peak occurred on December 29, 2024, where on that day Karawang Station served 777 passengers per day," he continued.

During that period, the passengers' favorite routes were the Karawang-Padalarang route with 1,389 passengers, Padalarang-Karawang 996 passengers, and Halim-Karawang 896 passengers.

Eva said that during this holiday period, passengers were dominated by passengers from Karawang who usedASH for tourism towards Bandung or vice versa.

"The other passengers from outside Karawang who took advantage of Nataru's moment to travel shopping at the premium outlet Karawang," he explained.

To facilitate accessibility, Karawang Station is equipped with various intermodal facilities such as conventional and online taxis, as well as a free shuttle bus to and from The Grand Outlet and Summarecon Villaggio Outlets.

"This free shuttle bus can be used by allPORT passengers just by showing aASH ticket," he said.

Tariffs

Eva said the tariff for the Halim-Karawang route and vice versa starts from Rp. 125,000 for the Premium Economy class.

Meanwhile, the tariff for the Karawang-Padalarang or Tegalluar Summarecon route and vice versa starts from IDR 175.000 for the Premium Economy class.

"This tariff is prepared so that it can reach various groups of people while at the same time supporting the use of environmentally friendly transportation," he said.

Eva said online ticket purchases can be made through the Rights application, ticket.kcic.co.id sites, as well as partner applications such as Access by KAI, Livin by Mandiri, Brimo, Wondr by BNI, and tiket.com.

People can also buy through offline channels such as counters and Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) at the station.

Of the 48PORTsh schedules that operated during the Christmas and New Year 2025 periods, there were 20PORTs that stopped at Karawang Station.

In detail, 10 departures to Halim Station and 10 departures to Padalarang Station or Tegalluar Summarecon.
