JAKARTA - Meta has added 18+ tags to its virtual world, Horizon Worlds. With the expansion of this type of content, users can create or insert adult content on the platform.

Previously, Meta banned adult content entirely, but according to a report from UploadVR, content creators received an email from the company saying they had to manually mark whether their world was adult or safe for all viewers or not.

If they mark the world as unsafe for children, then Meta will limit it to users aged 18 and over by default.

"When worlds are meant for an adult audience, Meta requires that the world be marked as adult. The following worlds will be allowed on Horizon but must be marked as Adult," Meta wrote in its policy update.

However, that doesn't mean you are free to add profanity in Horizon Worlds, of course, there are still limitations. The adult content that the intended user Meta should flag are as follows:

Content that is sexually suggestive, for example, near nudity, depictions of people in implied or suggestive positions, or environments that focus on overly suggestive activities.

It's worth noting that you can't do porn directly; nudity, explicit depictions of people, or sexually provocative or implied content or world are still prohibited.

You World is dedicated to or has a core focus on the promotion of marijuana, alcohol, tobacco or other age-regulated activities (including gambling). However, you cannot promote "drugs or prescription drug abuse."

Intense or violent fictional content, including blood and gore that can shock or disgust users. But note that you can't show violence in real life.
