Promising The Same Price As The ICE Model, Volvo EX30 Greets North American Market

JAKARTA - The latest electric car EX30 Volvo from the Swedish manufacturer has attracted the attention of global automotive observers. Not only about this car being powered by electricity, but also from its futuristic design and affordable price.

After launching last June, Volvo EX30 officially planted its nails for the North American market. The compact SUV has the potential to sell well in the North American market. The reason is, the need for SUVs and electric vehicles for the region is huge and Volvo also promises that this small SUV will be priced at the same price as the internal combustion engine Volvo model.

Reporting from InsideEVs, Tuesday, July 25, EX30 is available on the United States (US) market for 36,145 US dollars or around IDR 543.5 million. The price includes shipping costs.

Speaking of specifications, Volvo offers a single-motor option with an LFP standard range battery, which uses lithium iron phosphate chemicals, is more cost-effective and more resource-efficient to produce, meaning it's the best option if it doesn't require maximum range.

Then there is the Single Motor Extended Range variant with a long-range battery NMC battery featuring lithium, nickel, manganese, and cobalt, and generating its energy more efficiently than the LFP variant. This single-motor long-range option provides a range of up to 480 km per charge.

With these specifications, EX30 can advance with the fastest acceleration the company has ever made, which only takes 3.5 seconds from 0-100 km/hour.

Even though it has an affordable price, Volvo is not kidding about the experience of driving at EX30. The EX30 chassis has been set to maximize the compact car dimension.

The low center of gravity, as well as its relatively low and even weight, is equipped with ease of driving and seismicity in the city and its surroundings.

EX30 is one of the many electrified cars introduced by this Swedish brand, in addition to EX90, XC40 Recharge, and C40 Recharge.

Just like several other automotive manufacturers, Volvo also has plans to bring in more new model electric vehicles by 2030.
